It was heartbreak for Town on the road late on against Hull City, with the home side going ahead in the 92nd minute through Liam Delap after the ball fell to him kindly in the box.
Town had defended excellently for the much of the encounter, and despite the home side enjoying more of the ball, their chances were few and far between, with the Terriers snuffing out the chances that did come.
A threat when possible on the break, too, Sorba Thomas and Kyle Hudlin linked well and often, with the tall striker holding the ball up well and allowing the Welsh winger to drive forward and be an outlet as they worked out from the back.
Hudlin and Thomas likely had Town’s two best chances of the game, too, with the striker’s side footed effort saved well before Thomas cut in from the left wing and curled toward the opposite corner, narrowly missing his target.
With the game looking like ending 0-0, a late ball into the box from Hull took a deflection straight into the path of on loan forward Delap who managed to squeeze an effort past Nicholls off the post in added time, undoing the work Town had done at the back until that point.
