Despite a late equaliser from Jack Rudoni, the Terriers were undone by two Jacob Greaves goals from close range as Hull City took all three points from the John Smith's Stadium.
Taking the lead inside 10 minutes from a set play, the majority of the game was then played in Town's favour, with the Hull City defence packing plenty of men behind the ball to stifle the Terriers, who were doing all they could to break them down.
Getting a lift after the break and a jolt of energy from the bench, Town were great value for thier eventual equaliser, which came two minutes into added time at the end of the second half. Struck home by Jack Rudoni, the away side were handed a free-kick following the restart which created the winner.
A fantastic effort and atmosphere with plenty of positives for Town to take forward, the result brought an end to Jon Worthington's spell in Caretaker charge, with new Head Coach André Breitenreiter set to take control of the First Team next week.
