Huddersfield Town right back happy to be back playing

- Ollie Turton plays first match since injuring ankle
- Injury occurred in Sky Bet Championship fixture with Millwall
- Huddersfield Town defender discusses being ready to play

Playing the first half of our B Team friendly vs Luton Town, yesterdat saw Ollie Turton make a big step towards building his match fitness since being sidelined due to suffering an ankle injury against Millwall in October 2022.

Since injuring his ankle against Millwall at the John Smith’s Stadium in October 2022, the defender has been out of action.

Playing the opening 45 minutes for Jon Worthington’s B Team in a friendly against Luton Town at the Millers Oils High Performance Complex, these were Turton’s first minutes since the injury in October.

Reflecting on his injury and his return, our number two said:

“I’m feeling really good, happy to be back playing now – playing in this game just gave me a bit of a workout that I needed.

“I’m ready to play when the First Team need me now as it’s been really hard just watching from the side without being able to do anything.

“I was on the bench against Coventry, and I was ready to come on if needed, but obviously the game didn’t go the way wanted it to go and you need attacking options more than anything to come on and make a difference, so it just wasn’t meant to be.

“I’m ready to come on when needed, ready to do my part.

“I’ve had a couple of weeks training now, I know it was a blow with the Blackpool game being called off but it was almost a blessing in disguise for me – I could get in that extra training session, so I won’t miss an extra game and now I’m ready to go.

“The B Team lads are great, they work really hard and they’ve got some really good players as well so it was good to get back out.

“It’s just important to get some game exposure before you’re thrown into the deep end. I’ll continue to work hard this week and we’ll see what the weekend brings.”
