HIGHLIGHTS: TOWN 0-1 BLACKPOOL

Huddersfield Town fall to defeat at the John Smith’s Stadium

- Huddersfield Town 0-1 Blackpool
- Town suffer defeat in the Sky Bet Championship
- Full highlights now available via HTTV on YouTube

Town were edged out at home in the Sky Bet Championship as a fine first half performance meant that the Seasiders went home with all three points.

Going ahead through Theo Corbeanu in minute 38, Blackpool were the stronger of the two sides in the first half, shading what was largely an even contest.

Despite having the majority of possession, Huddersfield could not break down Blackpool, who protected their goal well by defending deeply with numbers behind the ball.

Jack Rudoni had multiple shots on target within the first half, but Daniel Grimshaw pulled off critical saves to keep the ball out of the Seasiders net.

Town had their chances to equalise in the second half as well – and despite Yuta Nakayama clearly striking the ball over the line, the Hawk-Eye operated goal line technology did not alert the referee as it should and the goal was waved off, despite protestations from the Town players, staff and supporters alike.

Duane Holmes and Pat Jones were introduced and brought a burst of energy to the game, but nothing that Town threw at Blackpool stuck, and time quickly ran out for the home side to get back into the game.
