“We have to go again as a team and give the crowd what they deserve” said Alex Pritchard as he urges the players to continue to perform for the amazing fans inside the John Smith’s Stadium.

Town’s attacking midfielder spoke to #HTTV ahead of this weekend’s Premier League match against West Ham and praised the impact the supporters make both home and away.

Whilst praising them, he explained what emotion came over him after the win against Fulham on Monday night.

“Personally, I was more relieved. As a whole, collectively, we’ve been more relaxed now.

“We really do need to kick on from here, we know it’s not just going to happen.

“We have to go again as a team and give the crowd what they deserve because every week they are unbelievable. We got that Fulham win for them and hopefully we can do it again.”

Ahead of Saturday’s game it was revealed that Town has conceded the fewest clear cut chances in the top-flight over the last four gameweeks.

The 25-year-old went into detail about his role defensively and how everyone works together and fights for the team.

“I think the front players really help the back players a lot, we shut players down and make it difficult for the opposition. We aim to make them play uncontrolled long balls rather than playing it through the thirds.

“The defenders have been amazing, we are all in it together, it’s not just them. The performances have been really good, apart from Watford, and as you can see from the stats, the defensive side, and the whole group, we’ve done well and shut them out.”

Pritch made his debut against West Ham United at the John Smith’s Stadium last season and when speaking to #HTTV he explained what it was like for him and how he thinks it’ll be different this season.

“It was a weird one because I was making my debut at a new club, new players, new surroundings, so it was a good one for me, but then obviously we lost 4-1 at the time, they put on a dominant display, West Ham, and their guys upfront really did open it up.

“I think it’ll be different now, we are more experienced now, and it’ll be a really good game on Saturday.”
