Huddersfield Town Head Coach Jan Siewert went into detail about the players available to him ahead of this weekend’s Premier League game against West Ham United.

The Terriers have had a number of injury problems over the last month and Siewert gave an update on the squad he has available this weekend.

“It’s easier to talk about the players who were on the pitch!” joked Town’s Head Coach.

“Unfortunately, there’s many injuries at the moment. Still Adama (Diakhaby), Isaac (Mbenza) are missing. DD (Demeaco Duhaney) is still out and Lolo (Laurent Depoitre) is missing. This has a big impact.

“Hoggy won’t be back until after the international break, maybe two or three weeks, it depends on his rib.

“TK (Terence Kongolo) still has problems, so we will look at them. We could see him back early, there may be a chance he trains tomorrow but he should be back in the international break.

“Erik Durm had a small muscle problem yesterday in training. He couldn’t train today but maybe tomorrow he could be back. Danny Williams is still out too.

“We have Tommy (Smith) back, he is no longer suspended, which is a positive thing.

“We had 15 who were healthy on the pitch today and we know West Ham has a big squad.”

West Ham currently sits ninth in the Premier League table but come into this game off the back of a 2-0 defeat away at Cardiff City.

When previewing the game, Town’s Head Coach went into detail about what he expects from the Hammers and how he’s focused purely on his side’s performance.

“I think right from the beginning when I came here it was all about the performance of our team and focusing on what we do on the pitch.

“It will be a difficult task at West Ham, I know that. We go there and know which tasks are given to us.

“West Ham is a good team, strong team, physically strong. They’ve got a large number of players and they’ve done well to bring Academy players up.

“They’re a quick team, so it’ll be interesting to play against them. They have certain key players.”

Jan Siewert was appointed as Town’s Head Coach around seven weeks ago and he explained that there’s still a lot of work to do at the Club.

“Including my win against Wolves, we have won four games since March last year; this is important to know. It’s still a work in progress and I want to help; this is the aim.

“We don’t score enough goals and the quality is so high in the Premier League that one mistake punishes you directly. There are more reasons and we have to work on them.”
