- Development Squad defender plays first 45 minutes
- Kane will now return to Huddersfield

Huddersfield Town Development Squad defender Danny Kane made a second appearance for the Republic of Ireland's Under-21 side on Tuesday afternoon.

Usually a centre back or right back, Kane was selected by Head Coach Noel King at left back and played the first 45 minutes in a 3-2 friendly defeat against Slovakia, being withdrawn at half time with a dead leg.

This appearance follows on from a full 90 in another international friendly on Sunday in a 2-1 defeat to the Czech Republic.

Full international caps are not being awarded for the two training games at Ireland's La Manga training centre in Spain, but these have still been Danny's first two appearances for his country at Under-21 level.

These friendlies were played in preparation for the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21s’ upcoming Euro campaign, which starts next year.

This is the latest in a line of international recognition for Danny, who was named as his country’s Under-17 Player of the Year in March of last year.

Danny will now return to Frankie Bunn’s Development Squad ahead of the next match against Leeds United on Monday 21 November.
