Town youngster played full 90 minutes at right back

- Danny Kane makes Republic of Ireland U21 debut
- Development Squad defender plays full 90 minutes
- Republic of Ireland’s Under-21s next match is against Slovakia on Tuesday night.

Huddersfield Town Development Squad defender Danny Kane made his Under-21s Republic of Ireland debut on Saturday (12 November).

Kane was selected by Head Coach Noel King at right back and played for the full 90 minutes in their friendly against Czech Republic U21s.

The young Irish side were beaten 2-1 by Czech Republic and will now prepare for their next friendly against Slovakia at their La Manga training centre in Spain on Tuesday night.

These friendlies are in preparation for the Republic of Ireland’s Under-21s’ upcoming Euro campaign, which starts next year.

The versatile defender, who can play at both centre back and right back, was named as his country’s Under-17 Player of the Year in March of last year.

Following Ireland’s friendly with Slovakia, Danny will return to Frankie Bunn’s Development Squad and be available for their match against Leeds United on Monday 21 November.
