Having made his debut for Town against Manchester City at The Etihad in the Emirates FA Cup, it’s been an interesting journey for Tom Iorpenda since joining our Academy.
Getting real insight into his path at Town, we spoke with three key figures from Tom’s time with the Club to date - Head of Academy Recruitment Lee Mellor, Head of Academy Coaching George Danaher and Academy Manager Jon Worthington.
Sitting down with HTAFC Sounds to go into detail about Tom’s development, we go on a journey from his arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion as a scholar to coming on for the First Team some years later via physical development, coaching and support from Academy staff.
A new way of looking at the link between First Team and Academy operations, while the focus is on Tom, it’s a pathway and level of care and coaching that many players making that journey have experienced at the Club as the B Team continue to supplement and support our senior side.
