Ben Jackson equalising in final five minutes to earn Huddersfield Town valuable point
- Huddersfield Town 1-1 Southampton
- Adam Armstrong opens scoring
- Ben Jackson scores in 87th minute to secure point
It was a late show in each half, with Southampton’s goal in first time injury time cancelled out in the 87th minute by Ben Jackson to give Town a deserved point.
An end-to-end game, Town played excellently at the back to keep Southampton’s chances to a minimum in the first half while remaining a real threat on the break.
Heading into half-time looking like it was destined to be goalless, Adam Armstrong flicked in a cross to give the away side a late lead - but that’s didn’t drop the heads of the Terriers.
Coming out of the break with real purpose, Town bossed the second half and were real value for the equaliser and point, going forward with real pace and desire.
Inches away with several efforts, we eventually got level through Jackson who’s cross evaded both the defence and attack on its way to the far corner of the goal, sparking huge celebrations at the John Smith’s Stadium.
