Huddersfield Town’s defender played the full 90 minutes in this afternoon’s friendly against Barnsley at Oakwell Training Ground.

David Adewoju defended against Barnsley this afternoon for the B Team and worked alongside First Team defender Will Boyle.

Discussing the game as a whole and what it was like to work with Boyle, Adewoju said:

“We haven’t played for a while, so we had to get back into the flow of playing with each other and playing as a team.

"It was disappointing to lose the game after taking the lead, but it was good to be back playing after having no game for the last couple of weeks.

“I’m quite close with Donay, so I’m obviously very happy to see him score; it was a great goal that took us into the second half with the advantage.

“It was really good to play alongside Boyle - he’s obviously really experienced and is very vocal, he’s good at telling us where to be and keeping us in position.

“It’s nice to have someone so vocal next to you.”

Adewoju then went on to talk about the uplift the team felt after they took the initial lead and what is coming for the rest of the season.

“There was definitely a boost after we scored, but because we scored so close to the second half it was hard to carry the momentum over, even though we started the second half better.

“We let their little passes become big passes as they pushed forwards and then that lead to both goals - so, that was really disappointing that we let go of the lead.

“We have a couple games coming up that we have to travel quite far to play, which sometimes has some toll when we’re travelling and playing in the same day, but we adjust and just perform the best that we can.”
