Huddersfield Town Head Coach Mark Fotheringham spoke about last weekend’s draw against Hull City, team news and our upcoming trip to Bloomfield Road in the Sky Bet Championship in his latest press conference.

Asked about his team news after the Hull City game ahead of tomorrow’s game against Blackpool, Mark gave us an insight into his side and his new recruits.

“Lee Nicholls has had the operation on his shoulder now, so we’ll assess how he reacts to the surgery and how the injury settles down with our medical staff.

“We have a brilliant Goalkeeping Coach in Paul Clements, and we have full faith in young Nick.

“Anthony has been great; he’s given everyone a lift in the building – he arrived from Greece with some bone bruising, so we’ll give him time to let that settle.

“If we wanted to rush Anthony into matches, we could, but we have a great squad, so we don’t need to take that risk.

“Ollie Turton could be involved this weekend, and that’s given us a real lift.

“Both he and Matt are really flexible and play different positions across the backline, so that really helps our depth – we’re lucky to have both of them in the group.

“Joe Hungbo is a direct player. He gives us another option and a new goal threat; he’s good from open plays and set plays, so that gives us a completely new option going forwards.”

Fotheringham reflected on the draw against Hull City in the Sky Bet Championship last weekend.

“Hull were very strong in possession towards the end of the game and that caused us some issues, and we have to compliment the opposition sometimes.

“We’ve done similar to other teams in the past but haven’t taken our chances.

“We’ve taken the lead in four straight matches now, so we just need to build on that consistency.

“There was nothing in the Luton loss where we shot ourselves in the foot, and we were seconds away from a big win at Hull too.

“We’re training to kill matches off.”

Looking ahead to tomorrow’s trip to Bloomfield Road in the Sky Bet Championship, our Head Coach spoke about what he was expecting from the side who have just appointed Mick McCarthy as their Head Coach.

“We all know in this country how good and experienced Mick McCarthy is – I’ve met him many times in the past.

“He’ll have Blackpool fired up for this match, but we’ll be up for it as well and know what to expect at Bloomfield Road.

“We’re playing all the teams around us, they’re all good teams and we respect them.

“Blackpool are a good team. We go there with a real focus and intensity to get three points for our travelling fans and send them home happy.”
