TOFFOLO AND CORBERÁN SHORTLISTED FOR MONTHLY AWARDS!

12 May 2022

Shortlist revealed for both the Sky Bet Championship Manager and Player of the Month for April 2022

- Carlos Corberán nominated for Manager of the Month
- Harry Toffolo nominated for Player of the Month
- Winners announced tomorrow, Friday 13 May

Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán and left-back Harry Toffolo have been shortlisted for Sky Bet’s Championship Manager and Player of the Month Awards after an undefeated April 2022.

Their fourth and second nominations of the season respectively, April was another impressive month for the Terriers as we went undefeated, winning five and drawing just once in six matches.

A run that included crucial wins over Luton Town and Barnsley at home, Town also travelled to Middlesbrough and Coventry, returning home with maximum points on both occasions.

Having previously been nominated in August, December and February, this is Head Coach Carlos Corberán’s fourth nod of the season, with his one win coming back in February.

His second nomination of the season, Harry Toffolo was also shortlisted in December, a month during which he provided an assist from open play in four consecutive matches over Christmas and New Year.

This time around, Toffolo has taken to putting the ball in the back of the net himself. Having registered one league goal for the season until April, the left-back went on to score against Hull City, Queens Park Rangers, Barnsley and Coventry City to make it four goals in six games, with a fifth in seventh coming against Bristol City at the start of May.

Carlos is nominated alongside Steve Cooper (Nottingham Forest), Russell Martin (Swansea City) and Gary Rowett (Millwall), with the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies all on the judging panel.

Harry is joined on the shortlist by Brennan Johnson (Nottingham Forest), Joel Piroe (Swansea City) and Dominic Solanke (AFC Bournemouth), with Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies again on the deciding panel.

Good luck to both Carlos and Toffs, with results to be released at 6am on Friday 13 May!

Tickets are still available for Town’s final home game of the 2021/22 season as we face Luton Town in the second leg of our Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Semi-Final on Monday 16 May at 7.45pm. CLICK HERE to guarantee your place at the John Smith’s Stadium!
