Town defender Michał Helik has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet Championship’s Player of the Month award for November 2023!
An ever-present for the Terriers this season, Helik is yet to miss a second of league action for his side, playing every minute possible to date. Scoring in the away win at Sunderland at the end of the month, Michał was excellent throughout November as Town lost just one in four games.
Now on five goals in 19 games this season, Helik is currently our top goal scorer from centre back, with Jack Rudoni and Delano Burgzorg behind him on three each. Contributing to an important month for the team, Town picked up five points from 12 available, winning once, drawing twice and losing just once.
Having worn the armband for Town on four occasions this season in Jonathan Hogg’s absence, the tall Polish central defender was voted the Club’s Hargreaves Memorial Player of the Year at the end of this debut 2022/23 campaign in blue and white, with his form this season already earning him two Blue & White Members Club Player of the Month awards.
Helik is nominated alongside Adam Armstrong (Southampton), Jaden Philogene (Hull City) and Sammie Szmodics (Blackburn Rovers) with results announced tomorrow, Friday 8 December. The judging panel comprises of Sky Sports’ EFL Expert Don Goodman, EFL Chief Executive Trevor Birch and Sky Bet trader Ivor Davies.
