Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán says he expects Jonathan Hogg to be available for Saturday’s game against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

The midfielder has been sidelined with a hip issue in recent weeks but Town’s Head Coach provided some positive news on the man who signed a new contract with the Club earlier in the week, during his pre-match press conference.

Speaking on Thursday afternoon, ahead of the match with the Hatters, Carlos detailed the latest on Town’s no.6.

“I think he’s going to be one of the starting players in the next game,” he said.

“We know that Hogg is an important player, he was helping the team in all the games.

“That’s why we extended his contract because he was making an unbelievable effort for the team.

“It’s important to have players with the mentality that we need to have in the dressing room – I think Hogg is one of those players.

“He trains like a young lad, he wants to learn, he wants to improve all the time.”

Despite the expected return of Hogg, Carlos is likely to be without Danny Ward who is continuing his recovery from a calf injury.

“Danny Ward couldn’t train this week, but I hope in the next week he can come back and train with the group.

“It’s necessary for us to recover him because he is important for us.”

Richard Stearman, Christopher Schindler and Danny Grant are also continuing their recoveries from respective injuries and although none of the three will be involved at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, Carlos detailed the latest progress on the trio.

“Stearman today did his first training back with the group which is something very positive after the time that he was not in the team,” he said.

“Schindler is a little bit further off, maybe we’ll see him train with the group after the next game. Neither will be available for the game but always it’s important to recover players that haven’t been in the team.

“Danny Grant we are thinking will be back in around three weeks’ time. We think he will need a period of adaptation so he can create habits.”

Town’s Head Coach also provided an update on the long-term recovery of Josh Koroma who has been out for the last two months with a hamstring issue.

“He’s going to need a couple of months more and then he can come with the group. It’s exactly what we expected from the beginning."
