The Huddersfield Town Academy has formed an exciting new partnership with Park View Academy of Sport, bolstering its presence in the North East of England.
Park View Academy, which is based in Chester-le-Street in the Tyne and Wear, was established in 2017 as a campus of Park View School and provides top-class sporting facilities for 16–19-year-olds who want to combine academic studies with progression in their chosen sport.
The Men's Football Development Centre at Park View Academy of Sport combines a variety of academic pathways with high-level training and performance. They run seven men’s football teams throughout an Academic year, with hundreds of players enrolled at the school.
Park View’s Head of Football will be a familiar name to Town fans – Darren Edmondson, who played for the Club as a defender between 1997 and 2000!
Together, the Town Academy and Park View Academy will enter a team in the National Football Youth League, the highest league outside the professional Academy setup, under the name Huddersfield Town Park View.

Town’s Academy Manager Emyr Humphreys explained:
“We’re really excited about this partnership, as we believe it has many mutual benefits for both parties.
“Park View’s strong presence in the North East of England adds a lot to our recruitment of players in an important part of the country, a real footballing hotbed. We will get to see hundreds of players who we might not otherwise be aware of through Park View.
“We’ve already formed a fantastic relationship with the staff at Park View, with whom we share the same view on the development of young players, and we will train together and play games throughout the season so we can assess the players in the programme.
“Equally, association with Huddersfield Town, and the chance to come and train with us if you do well, will help Park View attract a higher calibre of player in the future. There’s a clear pathway there for Park View players if they are good enough.
“I genuinely believe this is a fantastic opportunity for our Academy, that could have real long-term benefits.”
