Having recently begun working with the Huddersfield Town B Team alongside Kevin Russell, coach Michael Tongue discussed that transitional as well as today’s 1-1 draw at home with Wrexham AFC.
Helping to oversee a good performance against stern opposition from Sky Bet League Two, the B Team coach discussed what he liked about the side’s performance, their endeavour and desire to perform and how the coped against stronger players in tough weather conditions.
Reflecting on the differences between the showings against Nottingham Forest and this afternoon’s performance, Tonge spoke of his enjoyment now being part of the B Team group alongside Kevin Russell since his introduction, with the two having worked together as player and coach in the past.
Initially an Individual Coach with the Club some years ago, Tonge has progressed through U17 and U19 age groups before assisting at B Team level, and he reflected on that journey of his own within Town’s Academy set up.
