Midfielder Aaron Mooy said that Huddersfield Town fully deserved all three points from Monday night’s 1-0 victory over Fulham at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The Australian spoke after the game of how every pulled together to keep a clean sheet and earn that vital Premier League victory.

“Everybody is very happy. We worked very hard and we deserved all the points. Today we were solid, everyone worked hard to keep the ball out of the net and if you keep clean sheets then you have a good chance of winning the game,” said Aaron.

“When you’re 1-0 up with 10 minutes to go, you have to work as hard as you can and every player did that. We deserved it, we didn’t stop working. The running stats must be good for this game!

“The John Smith’s Stadium always has a great atmosphere. If we put in the effort then the crowd really gets behind us and today was the same. It’s always an amazing atmosphere for us.”

David Wagner’s side consistently pressed the opposition for 90 minutes, allowing Fulham next to no time to settle on the ball. Mooy went on to speak of how important it was to press throughout the match.

“We knew we were making it very difficult for Fulham. They were trying to pass all the time but we didn’t let them. It’s the three points we really needed and it’s the first win of the season, so it’s great.

Today’s fixture marked Mooy’s 100th appearance for the Club since originally joining on-loan from Manchester City back in the summer of 2016, before, of course, making his move to the Terriers a permanent one the following summer.

“It’s very special to me. I have always wanted to play 100 games for one club and I am happy that it is for Huddersfield Town.

“Some of the best moments of my career have happened here. My childhood dream of playing in the Premier League happened here and I am very happy to play 100 games for Town.”
