David Wagner on latest team news ahead of Premier League match

- Wagner on Town’s team news ahead of Crystal Palace
- Elias Kachunga and Philip Billing in contention
- Danny Williams and Terence Kongolo ruled out

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner revealed the latest team news ahead of the Club’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace.

The Head Coach gave an update on how Danny Williams’ surgery went, whilst also going into detail about Elias Kachunga, Philip Billing and Terence Kongolo.

Wagner explained that injuries are normal in the game, going on to admit that despite the injury to the USA international, he is pleased that his injury list isn’t too long.

Here’s what David Wagner said in his press conference on Town’s team news.

Danny Williams

“He picked up the injury in training, it didn’t look like a serious situation, to be totally honest, it wasn’t a battle or a challenge in this situation.

“He more or less touched the ball in an unlucky moment and fractured his fibula in this situation.

“He had his surgery in the morning, everything went very well, I hear, but this doesn’t change that he will be out for the rest of the season. Of course, we wish him all the best.

“He made a huge impact for us this season, he’s helped us a lot. He’s a good character in the dressing room and on the pitch.

“We will miss him but now there’s more responsibility on all of us to make sure he’s playing in the Premier League next season.”

Philip Billing

“Phil Billing is back in training and fit. He has shown some very good performance like Jonathan Hogg and Aaron Mooy this season.

“Phil is in contention for this weekend.”

Elias Kachunga

“Kachunga has been back in training since the end of last week and was in full training this week. He will be in contention for the squad tomorrow.”

Terence Kongolo

“Terence looks good and is back on the grass with the fitness coaches.

“If everything goes to plan, he will be back in training to prepare for the Newcastle Untied game at the end of the international break.”

Other injuries

David Wagner is also without Ryan Schofield, Sean Scannell and Michael Hefele.
