Philip Billing to undergo surgery on ankle injury

- Philip Billing expected to be out for 12 weeks
- Midfielder to have surgery on ankle
- Stanković, Palmer & Hefele also on road to recovery

Huddersfield Town can confirm that midfielder Philip Billing will be side-lined for an estimated 12 weeks with an ankle injury sustained in the Club’s Premier League match against Swansea City.

The midfielder was stretchered off in the game against the Swans in the 60th minute after the ball struck his ankle whilst he was running forwards.

Scans have subsequently revealed that Philip will undergo surgical management of the lateral ligament complex of his right ankle.

Following his surgery, Philip will be out for approximately 12 weeks and will work closely with the medical team and fitness department.

Jon Gorenc Stanković (knee), Michael Hefele (Achilles) and Kasey Palmer (hamstring) are also on the road to recovery.

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner commented:

“Phil has had surgery on his ankle today and we would all like to wish him a speedy recovery.

“The focus now is to help him return fitter and stronger than before, so he is ready to help us for the rest of the Premier League season.”
