CLUB CELEBRATE 'WOMEN AT THE GAME' vs PLYMOUTH ARGYLE

8 January 2024

Club’s annual game highlighting female inclusion

- Huddersfield Town vs Plymouth Argyle
- Town’s dedicated ‘Women at the Game’ fixture
- Opportunity given to female family/friends of HTAFC Women’s+ Network

Huddersfield Town’s upcoming Sky Bet Championship match against Plymouth Argyle has been named as the Club’s ‘Women at the Game’ match as the Terriers continue to strive for equality and diversity in football.

The initiative, which Town has supported since 2017, aims to give women their first taste of live football in a supportive environment as well as to foster dialogue and relationships amongst women who are already seasoned match-goers.

To link with the ‘Women at the Game theme’, members of our HTAFC Womens+ Network will be bringing along members of their friends and family to the match and feeding back to us on their experiences at the John Smith’s Stadium, as well as giving their thoughts on how we can be as female friendly as possible as we seek to continually improve the experience of our supporters and attract new people to our Club.

HTAFC WOMEN’S+ NETWORK

Huddersfield Town’s Women’s+ Network was formed to facilitate research to gain insights into female experiences in football, and the group are no working closely with the Club to implement changes to increase female representation, inclusion, and engagements at and around the game.

Members of the Women’s+ Network are leading the way in opening up dialogue with supporters, staff, and other stakeholders of all genders and from all backgrounds to champion, enhance, and celebrate female experiences with the Club.

The group aims to meet up at least quarterly as well as hold events, including our latest event which took place on Thursday 7 December 2023 where Alison Jackson presented Temple Spa in a wellness evening.

Prior to this, we collaborated with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in October 2023 to provide our network members with the opportunity to attend a special access tour of the YAA base in Wakefield. Attendees met the team behind the scenes and with an initial welcome in the Air Hanger followed by unit tours of aircraft, the simulation suite, dispatch desk, and boardroom.

We are also fortunate to have Huddersfield Town Women, our associated Women’s Team and you can find out more information on them by CLICKING HERE.

As part of the Club’s ‘Terriers Together initiative’, there will be further opportunities to highlight our female inclusion work through our annual ‘Terriers Together’ match as well as activities around International Women’s Day.
