Huddersfield Town’s Terrier Squad now open to Primary Schools
- Town launch next phase of Terrier Squad
- Club has created a package for local Primary Schools
- Aim to build stronger relationships between Schools and HTAFC
Huddersfield Town are excited to begin the next phase of the Terrier Squad and open up offers to Primary Schools!
Designed around youngsters in and around our area, the Terrier Squad will open lots of exciting connections and offers to Primary Schools in our area.
The Terrier Squad has already recruited a cohort of Junior Clubs, now we begin our next phase and are offering the opportunity to Primary Schools. The advice is to sign your school up as soon as possible to be included ahead of the next academic year.
The package is free of charge for Primary Schools to join but requires a promise of support from the school, please use the contact below for more information!

“Since I was appointed in my role last year, I have enjoyed speaking to various different groups, including the Junior Football Clubs, and now I look forward to speaking to the different Primary Schools around the area.
“There are some brilliant people who make up our school community who put in lots of long hours, hard work, and effort to make sure that pupils have a great learning experience, and we hope that we can build on this and help create something positive.
“We have met and spoken with local Headteachers and teachers already to look at this package and make it the best we can, lots of things will go hand in hand with curriculums and learning objectives for schools.
“The aim of the Terrier Squad is to build on and formalise our links to give more to the Junior Clubs and Primary Schools who sign up.”
The benefits of your Primary School joining the Terrier Squad:
- Your school is named as a Terrier Squad Member
- A digital image to display on your school website, social media platforms and parent communications channels
- Option for discounted tickets to selected HTAFC games throughout the season
- Option for an annual tour of the John Smith’s Stadium on dedicated dates throughout the season
- Opportunity of a visit from Club Ambassadors
- Entry into exclusive Terrier Squad competitions e.g., Design a Kit, Write a Match Report, etc
- Opportunity to apply for two raffle prizes - a family ticket voucher in December and a HTAFC squad signed ball in April
- Access to worksheet based fun activities that combine learning and sport
- “Star of the Term” rewards, these can be used to celebrate educational achievements, good behaviour, attendance records, etc
- A player video message to act as motivation for schools – could be for Sports Day, ahead of SATS, etc
Our ask of Primary Schools:
- A commitment to work in partnership with HTAFC
- Your help to promote selected HTAFC games by way of social media, parent newsletters and communication platforms used within school
- Help to promote packages to parents of specific age groups (e.g., Terrier 7s)
Our Terrier Squad will also encompass Secondary Schools, with a campaign set to launch in Autumn 2023.
