Huddersfield Town midfielder Jonathan Hogg spoke about our last game against Blackpool, Narcís Pѐlach and out upcoming Sky Bet Championship game against Wigan Athletic in our latest press conference.
Asked about the week since the Blackpool game and the changes made around the team, Hogg said:
“It’s been a tough week and it’s just one of those things that football throws at you.
“As footballers, we have to do our jobs – it’s simple.
“We have to put it aside and concentrate on the next game against Wigan; our heads are in the right place but both sides need the three points, so we need to go there with our fighting spirit.”
Our captain then went and reflected on the previous game against Blackpool during the week.
“Tuesday night was very frustrating. The game was definitely there for the taking, we shot ourselves in the foot and it took me a few days to get my head around it.
“I think a fly on the wall of our changing room would have been entertained, there was certainly a lot of passion, which is quite nice to see – we can’t dwell on that disappointment now, we have to focus on the next game.”
Our midfielder went on to discuss the appointment of Narcís Pѐlach as Interim Head Coach for this next game.
“Narcís has been here a long time, the lads know what he is about and what he can bring to the team.
“We had a few meetings with him yesterday and we’re very clear on what we need to do on and off the ball. He is really positive and upbeat and has gone around giving the lads as much confidence as he can.”
Finally, Hoggy looked towards our upcoming game against Wigan Athletic on Saturday 11 February.
“We know what we have to do at Wigan, it’s basically a cup final as both teams need the three points.
“It’s about desire, we need to show everyone what we’re made of and we’ve got a clear game plan, which we need to stick to.
“I can only ask the fans to stick with us, they really help us and I can guarantee that we’ll give everything we have in return.”
