Huddersfield Town Foundation has urged Town fans to back their ‘Fans For Foodbanks’ initiative at Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Bristol City at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Following on from past success, Town’s Official Charity continues to help those facing destitution, with the scheme aiming to give someone in need a helping hand ahead of the festive period as the temperatures fall.

Extra donation points will be made available ahead of the fixture, with members of our Young Terriers staffing these locations, which can be found near the Players’ Entrance, the entrance to the Core Stand, next to the inflatables, and at the Community Hub.

This would be a great way for a fan to do their good deed ahead of the festive period by helping someone in need whilst meeting a future star!

Donations that foodbanks are open to receive are tinned meat, fish, halal and meat-free alternatives; tinned potatoes and other vegetables, fruit, rice pudding, and custard; Breakfast cereals; UHT milk; jam; cooking sauces; microwaveable rice, noodles and pasta pots; drinks such as tea bags, instant coffee, fruit squashes, other soft drinks; biscuits and sweet treats for children of all ages; toiletries including toilet roll, soap/shower and bath, deodorants, razors and shave gel, sanitary towels and tampons.

Items collected by the initiative will be donated by the Foundation to Batley Food Bank and The Welcome Centre, which will be extremely welcomed as the festive period approaches and the subsequent freezing-cold temperatures brought on by the winter months.

For those who would like to donate items either at a different fixture or on a non-match day, the donation bin at the Community Hub is permanent for people to donate the non-perishable items stated above.
