Huddersfield Town Manager Neil Warnock speaks after Carabao Cup exit

- Huddersfield Town 2-3 Middlesbrough

Huddersfield Town Manager Neil Warnock admitted that the red card was the telling moment on the night as Town just missed out on the Carabao Cup Second Round as their lost to Middlesbrough.

Despite being the better side in the first half and taking an early lead through Kian Harratt who marked his first start for the Club with his first goal at the John Smith’s Stadium, a straight red card for Jaheim Headley as the last man opened the door for Middlesbrough to equalise.

Town recovered well and could have gone ahead but the extra man showed for the away side after the break and they built up a two goal lead that was slashed in the final moments by substitute striker Kyle Hudlin who was making his competitive debut as a Terrier.

Speaking at full-time Warnock said his side acquitted themselves well and admitted that a few players surprised him and made their case to him to be involved further, saying that after going a man down that is all he could ask for on the night.
