Josh Ruffels and Brahima Diarra shared their delight from their first away win of the season, as they beat QPR 1-2, when they spoke to HTTV after the final whistle.

Josh Ruffels was over-the-moon with both of his goals and the team’s performance against QPR on Tuesday night.

“It’s quite funny, Wardy was screaming at me to play it back to him but instinct just kicked in because I had scored the first goal so I thought I might try my luck!

“If it’s your night, it’s your night and I am absolutely buzzing.

“The character shown tonight with all the injuries and suspensions, it shows the likes of Brahima coming in and putting in a massive shift.

“I think in the second half we hardly touched the ball, but the way we dug-in was credit to everyone and all the staff that have worked hard.

“We really deserved those three points after a couple of tough games.”

Young midfielder Diarra discussed his happiness with starting and how proud he is of the B Team players who are working their way up into the First Team.

“I’m very happy to make my first start and we won the game so it’s a good feeling. It’s proving that my hard work is paying off, so I just need to keep pushing now.

“I’m very proud, we’ve shown that we have great players in the Academy and hopefully everyone in the B Team will get their chance.

“Etienne is injured but to see Loick on the bench is good and I’m happy for him – hopefully he will get on the pitch next time.”

Our goal scorer took the opportunity to thank the fans for making the trip and showing their support and patience.

“When you take the lead away from home, you’re always going to sit back a bit and they’re always going to push hard.

“The second half wasn’t easy, and we had to dig in, and we have played better in the last couple of games, but the fans and everyone who associate with the Club will take that tonight.

“The fans were amazing, and it’s great to put a smile on their faces.

The fact that they travelled down here on a Tuesday night is incredible, so thank you to them for travelling down and we’re glad we got the three points for them.”
