Young Terriers in Group B of competition

- Huddersfield Town’s Academy enters in Professional Development League Cup
- Young Terriers in Group B with Crewe Alexandra, Bradford City, and Peterborough United
- Performance and results the focus for Town in this Under-18 competition

Huddersfield Town’s Academy have entered the 2022/23 Under-18 Professional Development League Cup!

The competition is split into seven groups of four teams, comprising of Category 2, Category 3, and Category 4 Academies. The winner of each group, plus the best placed runner-up, will advance to the knockout stage.

Our Young Terriers are in Group B, alongside Crewe Alexandra, Bradford City, and Peterborough United.

Much like the Premier League Cup is for our B Team, the competition will be performance focused, meaning our youngsters will find themselves under extra pressure from the Academy staff to go out and showcase everything they’ve learnt in training to get the results.

Fixture dates will be confirmed in due course.

Academy Coach George Danaher commented:

“Cup games are always really beneficial for our programme.

“They offer the lads a new challenge where we put real demand on them to perform and display what it takes to win – that’s with the build-up, the game, and then the review.

“We put a lot of emphasis on the players improving and their development, and this competition will not only help us put that pressure on them, but also be a fantastic experience for them.”
