Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán has ruled several First-Team players out of Saturday’s trip to face Watford in the Sky Bet Championship.

That includes midfielder Carel Eiting who has had surgery on a knee issue sustained during his last appearance against Reading nearly two weeks ago.

Carlos provided an update on the on-loan Ajax midfielder during his press conference on Thursday afternoon.

"Carel Eiting had a problem with the knee in the last game,” he said.

“He has had surgery. From the perspective of our medical staff, he's going to need around three or four months to recover from the injury.

"We are in talks with Ajax to see the decision around Carel Eiting and his injury. Ajax will make the decision whether he stays here or not.

"It will be difficult to see him again this season from our perspective."

The Dutchman is unfortunately one of several players that Town's Head Coach said will miss the game when speaking to the media in his pre-match press conference.

Isaac Mbenza will miss the trip to Vicarage Road as he continues his isolation in line with Covid-19 contact/trace regulations, despite testing negative.

"Naby Sarr is not going to be available for the next game. Isaac Mbenza was in isolation and continues with a problem in the achilles," he said.

"Danny Grant felt something before the game against Plymouth and now he will spend four to six weeks with the medical staff with an injury.

"Alex Pritchard is going to miss the next game, as is Adama Diakhaby because both have an injury. Both have started to come on with the group this week but they are not in the conditions to face the game.

"Richard Stearman will also continue his recovery and miss the game but we can expect to have him back in the next month."

One player that the Spaniard will be able to add to his squad for Saturday’s game is Danny Ward who has returned to training this week off the back of a reoccurrence of a hamstring issue in recent weeks.

"Danny Ward is one bit of positive news we've had this week.

"He completed the last three training sessions. If all goes well, he will be in the squad on Saturday too."
