How will Danny Grant fit in at Huddersfield Town? Sports reporter Gavin Cooney gave his opinion on the forward!

Cooney is a reporter for The42 in Ireland, which covers Irish and international sports news.

What kind of player is Danny Grant?

Danny is in the mould of a modern wide attacker. He is quick and his touch and dribbling ability are very good, but he has looked best for Bohs this year when attacking in off the left wing, and onto his right foot.

He can play across the front three (wide left, wide right, up front), but where has he performed best for Bohemian?

He excelled when he swapped to the left flank this year, having really developed physically. I first saw him play last year on the right side, but Bohemian signed Kris Twardek and swapped Danny to the left, where he became more effective, scoring seven goals in 17 games.

He earned a call up to the Republic of Ireland U21 squad, won a Player of the Month award, and was then crowned the Players' Young Player of the Year - he had a great season.

What are his best qualities?

His pace and close control are his most obvious attributes on the pitch, but I'd also like to give a nod to his positional discipline and intelligence. Bohs are one of the best-coached teams in the League of Ireland, so he would not have made the kind of impact he did if he wasn't able to both listen to and follow instruction.

Also, anyone who I've spoken to at Bohs sing about his personality; there's a real earnestness to the well wishes he's received from a lot of those connected with Bohs.

How do you think he will adapt to the Sky Bet Championship?

The step up to the Championship from the League of Ireland is pretty significant, to be honest, but Grant was one of the outstanding players of the 2020 season here, and I think he has the skillset, mentality and attitude to make an impact. I'm really excited to see how he does.
