In the run up to Huddersfield Town’s 2019/20 season in the Sky Bet Championship, htafc.com has decided to take a look at some of the most memorable fixtures against teams they’re due face again this season – today we look back at The Terriers 5-1 triumph over Cardiff City in 1995.

It was role reversal with current Cardiff City Manager, Neil Warnock, taking charge of the Terriers that day.

Town came into the game on 18 February 1995 second in the league with two wins and two draws from the previous two games – Andy Booth having scored in both of the most recent two.

It would be Town’s legendary frontman who opened the scoring having leapt the highest to head over Cardiff’s goalkeeper.

Tom Cowan got the second after a corner was delivered from the right by Paul Reid as Cowan converted on the third time of asking.

Ronnie Jepson sent the 10,035 supporters at the John Smith’s Stadium wild as he headed home before Paul Reid and Gary Crosby sealed the win.
