Chairman Dean Hoyle has today delivered a special message to Huddersfield Town supporters ahead of the Club’s second ever Premier League season.

When speaking to htafc.com, Dean Hoyle explained how excited he is for the new season, whilst urging the supporters to make the difference, once again.

“I don’t know about you, but I’m so excited to see Huddersfield Town start a second season in the Premier League!

“On Saturday we kick-off our second consecutive top-flight season by welcoming Chelsea to the John Smith’s Stadium.

“Last season was incredible and will live long in my memory, as I know it will for all Town fans. However, that is now history and we will not allow complacency to creep into this Club. We all expect this season to be even more difficult than the first.

“I believe it’s very important that we remember who we are and where we’ve come from. It was only 14 years ago that Huddersfield Town was fighting to get out of League 2, and just six years ago that we finally achieved promotion back to the Championship.

“Of course, we have absolutely earned the right to begin a second season in the Premier League. The staff and the players deserve a huge amount of credit for that, in particular David Wagner and his team. The culture and mindset of this Club has been transformed and we now live and breath the ‘No Limits’ mantra that David introduced. We’ve shown that it is possible for an ‘unfashionable’ team to thrive in modern-day football.

“The support our fans give the team is one of the biggest factors behind our success. The Premier League produces a fantastic booklet that it distributes to its stakeholders at the end of every season and it is no coincidence that pictures of Town fans adorn the pages about the league’s supporters. You’ve brought a new level of colour and noise to this division, particularly here at the John Smith’s Stadium.

“The fabled ‘12th man’ is talked about so often by owners and clubs, but I don’t believe there’s ever been a more relevant fan-base to use that term for than ours. I can say categorically that I believe your support helped to keep this club in the Premier League last season.

“In the same way that I’m demanding from everyone inside the Club, I’d ask you to eliminate any complacency in your minds and start afresh this season. Do everything you can to bring your passion and noise to a new level this season! The players will need you, starting today, when we take on a team of international superstars looking to assert themselves for a new manager.

“Enjoy every second; every one of the ups and downs that we will experience again over the next nine months. If you give your all off the pitch, I can guarantee that the players will give everything for you on it.

“Up the Town!”

Dean also expressed his feeling ahead of the new season in the first copy of The Terrier, Town’s official match day programme.

The 84-page edition, that’s available for just £3.50, includes columns from Town’s Chairman, David Wagner and Tommy Smith.

That’s not all! Mathias Zanka reviews his first time at the World Cup, whilst Duncan Shearer and Frank Sinclair recall their spells at both clubs.

Want to know how Chelsea might set up? Well, The Terrier caught up with former Blues ‘keeper Mark Schwarzer, who gave a full de-brief on what to expect from Saturday’s opponents.

You can purchase the match day programme from the PPG Canalside Fanzone, the John Smith’s Stadium or the Stadium Megastore.
