Defender will face Lithuania and Serbia

- Defender set to face Lithuania & Serbiia in Euro 2017 qualifiera
- Youngster already has 11 caps for the Under-21s

Huddersfield Town defender Jon Gorenc Stanković has been called up to the latest Slovenia Under-21 squad for two upcoming Euro 2017 qualifiers.

Primož Gliha’s squad will face Lithuania and Serbia during the upcoming international break in October in the final two games of the group stage, with the Slovenians still in with a chance of progressing.

Slovenia’s youngsters currently sit third in Group Two with 15 points from eight games. Italy will definitely progress, so it's a straight shoot-out between Serbia and Slovenia for the Play-Off spot.

Stanković and his teammates will play Lithuania in Kaunas on Friday 7 October, 7.30pm UK time, before a second game against the Serbians in Gornji Milanovac, 6pm UK time on Tuesday 11 October.

With the Sky Bet Championship taking an international break at this time, Jon will have time to re-join the Terriers ahead of the game at home to Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday 16 September.

Jon is the second Town player to receive international summons for this period, following on from Aaron Mooy’s call-up to the Australia squad.
