With a goal in each half to overcome Birmingham City’s early opener through Troy Deeney, both Joe Hungbo and Jaheim Headley couldn't have timed opening their accounts for the Club any better.
Speaking to HTTV after the all important win, Joe Hungbo described his first Town goal, saying:
“As I’ve got the ball I’ve seen Jack and I’ve thought, let me take an extra touch and go at him.
“Luckily all the work I’ve been doing out on the training pitch has paid off in terms of me finishing, so I’m happy.
“Most importantly, the three points is what we needed so hopefully we can keep on building on this.”
Speaking of his own goal on his home debut, Headley added:
“It was a bit of a surreal moment for me.
“Obviously I’m happy to get my first goal in Town colours on my home debut, but like Joe said, the most important thing was to get the three points.”
Then discussing the arrival of new Manager Neil Warnock this week, Hungbo shared:
“He’s come in and he’s Neil Warnock, you know?
“His name speaks for itself, everyone talks about how much of a great person he is and we just want to work for him.
“He’s such a great guy and he gets a lot out of us, I’m just happy that we can win and try and keep this going, we just want to work for him and do it for him because we know how much it means to him being back.
“All in all, the three points is what we need but we’re happy to do it for him.”
With his teammate Headley adding:
“He’s done a lot over his time, and he’s come out of retirement to help us get out of the situation we’re in.”
