U19s HOST MANSFIELD TOWN ON SATURDAY!

4 August 2023

The Youth Alliance League season begins for our Under-19 side on Saturday morning

- Huddersfield Town U19s vs Mansfield Town
- First Youth Alliance League action for the Young Terriers
- Supporters welcome to attend the 11.30am kick-off

Huddersfield Town’s Under-19 side kick-off their Youth Alliance campaign on Saturday morning when they welcome Mansfield Town to the Millers Oils High Performance Complex for an 11.30am kick-off.

Our Young Terriers start their 2023/24 Youth Alliance League season on Saturday 5 August 2023 at home to Mansfield Town in an 11.30am kick-off, with the game being played at the Millers Oils High Performance Complex (509 Leeds Road, Huddersfield, HD2 1YJ).

Part of Group A, which consists of clubs within the North and North East, Town’s Under-19s finished ninth on 22 points last season.

The youngsters come into this campaign off the back of a pre-season that saw them win two out five of their games – most recently their 0-2 away win over Emley on Wednesday 2 August, which took place at 7.30pm.

A collective Academy side took on Emley's U21 side, as we saw a team built from both B Team players and Under-19 players, which we won 2-0 with both goals scored in the first 30 minutes from U19 striker Hazeem Bakre.

The first goal from the young striker came inside the fourth minute of the game. The ball was played to captain Ben Midgley on the right of the penalty area, his low cross to Bakre gave him the simple task of beating the 'keeper from around the penalty spot.

Our second goal came from a set piece as Midgley's corner from our left was met by a bullet header from our forward with the ball flying into the back of the net off the near post.

It's fair to say that we couild have scored more in this game but we were wasteful when in front of the goal with our chances.

However, we will be looking to use this win as momentum in order to start this season’s campaign on a high with three points to build on.

As always, supporters are welcome to attend this fixture at the Millers Oils High Performance Complex on Saturday morning if you are not making the trip to Plymouth Argyle for the first Sky Bet Championship game of the season, and cheer on the Terriers of tomorrow!

Please be aware that parking at Millers Oils High Performance Complex is limited, so arrive in plenty of time or there might be a chance you have to park elsewhere.
