Town Head Coach Danny Schofield said that the result was a difficult one to accept after the controversy surrounding the goal line technology, especially with the team making several chances.
Opening up about the game, the Head Coach said that the performance was strong but the key moments went against his side.
“Overall it was a very positive performance, the lads put a lot of effort in. I feel like we were the stronger team over the course of the game, but we came out with a loss which isn’t good.
“It’s very difficult. We’ve seen the footage back and we feel as though it is a goal, but it’s not been awarded. It’s a tough one to take especially when there’s goal line technology in place.
“It’s a shame, but the number of times I’m saying that now about the performances being positive or\ parts of the game being positive – we need to reflect as we’re always going to, dust ourselves down and stand up to the next challenge. It’s the only way you can do it when you’re not winning football games, and that’s what we’ll be focussing on.
“It’s difficult to take. We’re always looking for solutions and how we can turn these moments in games for us to make us get the results, and I think a lot of the games we’ve competed in this season have been decided on key moments in games.
“We want to be a progressive, attacking team. We want numbers going forward and creating chances, so that’s something we’re going to continue building on.”
