Beaming at full-time after watching his side win their first away game of the season, Mark Fotheringham shared his emotions with HTTV, speaking of the pride he felt in his players.

Summing up his thoughts, Fotheringham said:

“We’ve been trying to take the emotion out of it recently, because the performances have been excellent against really good sides.

“Today we rode our luck at times but we thoroughly deserved it.

“The way we defended there was so solid, and we showed a great reaction to losing the goal as well.

“There were some big, big performances in there from young players and older experienced players, and I’m really starting to see some new leaders grow in the group.

“I think that’s going to be a turning point for us, because if we can handle that sort of pressure away from home at a place like this, we can really handle anything in my opinion.

“I’ve never doubted these players, I believe in them so much.

“They work so hard in training and I’m really proud of them because they’re a great bunch of lads, the ones back at the training ground as well – they’re hoping to get themselves in good shape to come in and improve this side so we can kick on and kick up the table.

“There were so many leaders in there tonight and they’re growing as people.”
