Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán wants his team at their “best level” when they face Luton Town in the first leg of the Championship Play-Off Semi-Final on Friday 13 May 2022.

The biggest game of our season so far, the Terriers travel to Kenilworth Road to face Play-Off Semi-Final opponent Luton Town.

Speaking in his virtual conference, Carlos discussed Friday’s integral fixture.

“We want to play a very strong and competitive team against Luton, to make this dream happen we need to perform at our best level.

“If we want to have any chance of going to Wembley we need to perform tomorrow and the next game at our best level.

“The concentration in this game needs to be higher than in a league game because the result in the first leg can affect the full result at the end of 180 minutes.”

Corberán went on to comment about the “excellent” work Luton Town boss Nathan Jones and his side have done this season.

“Nathan Jones has done an excellent job - he was manager of the season for me and it’s very well deserved.

“It’s going to be a very good game against a very good coach - he deserves all the credit as a coach because he’s done a top job.

“Luton’s pitch is very different, it has different measurements, they play in one clear style and we need to be ready for the needs of the game.”

Carlos also provided an update on the fitness of his squad ahead of tomorrow’s crucial tie.

“We are going to have one final training session today that will decide who is going to be available.

“O’Brien is going to make the training, if he trains well he will be available.

“Sorba Thomas and Matty Pearson are going to make today’s training but of course it is a long time since they’ve have trained with the group.

“It is important these characters are close to the team right now but there is no chance they can start tomorrow.”
