Fresh from netting a hat-trick for Town against Reading, our top scorer Danny Ward spoke to HTTV to reflect on what has since been voted a Man of the Match performance.

With a huge grin on his face, Ward shared his happiness with both the team performance and result just moments after full-time at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

“I’m delighted, first and foremost to get the three points and to keep a good run of form going.

“To top it off with a hat-trick as well is fantastic, and something as strikers we all want to achieve.

“The group of lads that we’ve got here is fantastic, it always helps as a striker when you’ve got quality players and hardworking teammates behind you.

“It was a bit like a basketball game the first half, but it just shows the resilience and togetherness this team has got to grind out results.”

Touching on the vocal Town support and another game added to the ongoing unbeaten run, Danny said that the fans helped the side get over the line and that the momentum being built is a real achievement.

“Their support is massive.

“We knew how hard it would be to get that fourth goal, and they never stop singing throughout, so to have that support is massive.

“I think we’ve gained a lot of confidence, to go nine games unbeaten in the Championship and FA Cup as well is a big achievement.

“Hopefully that confidence will carry us forward and keep that momentum going.”
