Carlos Corberán was in a jubilant mood when discussing the match after Town’s dramatic 3-4 away win at the Select Car Leasing Stadium against Reading.

With such an end-to-end flow to the game, the Head Coach was pleased with how his side maintained their attacking identity throughout the match, and corrected any defensive issues in the second half.

“I think the start of the game was really good and really bad at the same time.

“We dominated the ball and the position on the pitch, but in the first counter attack we suffered.

“Their second goal was exactly the same.

“The reaction of the team was immediate after they scored the goal, they kept their personality without any doubt.

“The second half, maybe we attack less – but we defended much better.”

Putting four past Reading for the second time this season thanks to a hat-trick from top scorer Danny Ward, it’s no surprise that Carlos highlighted that aspect of Town’s play as a strongpoint, with Ward singled out for special recognition after his fine display.

“The attacking in the first half was fantastic.

“There was a lot of personality in our centre backs to play, there was a lot of personality in Hoggy to play, there was a good understanding of spaces in Pipa to help the team to play too.

“We know that if you attack well but don’t have the last part of the action, every attack is going to finish in nothing.

“For us today, the contribution of Danny Ward was special.”
