Captain Jonathan Hogg and scorer Duane Holmes shared their delight following the team's first back-to-back wins of the season, as they beat Rotherham United 2-0 at the John Smith’s Stadium, when they spoke to HTTV after the final whistle.
Hogg shared his pride for his team after their hard work on Thursday evening.
“We’re feeling fantastic! The lads have worked so hard over the World Cup break we had, they were put through hell and when we came back, we had two really tough fixtures with Sheffield United away and Watford.
“We knew that with these next five or six fixtures coming up we had the teams around us and how big these games were going to be, so it was a great time to get two wins back-to-back.
“It’s a credit to the lads. We’ve stuck together, and the performances are looking after themselves now, we’re starting to pick up the points now sooner rather than later.”
Goal scorer Duane Holmes discussed his delight in scoring his first goal of the season as well as his happiness on the back-to-back wins for the Terriers.
“I started to think the ball wasn’t going in for a minute! I had an easy chance in the first half on my left foot and I ended up hitting it backwards, but it’s nice to get a goal and to get the back-to-back wins is the most important thing.
“We looked at this run of fixtures, and we knew that we were playing teams around us and it’s a good chance for us to pick up points.
“I think at times this year we’ve played well and probably could have got more points than we have – it’s good that we’re getting the results that we’re after.”
