Huddersfield Town duo Lee Nicholls and Yuta Nakayama were both delighted to see the Terriers secure their first Sky Bet Championship win on Saturday afternoon.
A dominant performance at the John Smith’s Stadium saw Town put three goals past Stoke City, and seal Danny Schofield’s first win as Head Coach.
Speaking to HTTV straight off the pitch, Nicholls was quick to say how much the result meant to the squad.
“Yeah, it’s massive.
“It’s just nice to get some points on the board.
“The boys have been working hard since we’ve come back from pre-season, it’s been tough, but it’ll mean the world to them, and I can’t wait to get back in there now!”
The game saw Nakayama make his league debut, and he was delighted to do it under winning circumstances.
“Yeah, I’m happy to make my debut!
“Also, we managed to win a game, finally.”
As if a win wasn’t enough, the Japan international got himself on the scoresheet, and was quick to pile the praise on Sorba Thomas.
“Just Sorba! It was a good ball into the box, so I just didn’t tap-in, but it feels like a tap-in!”
