CONOR FALLS PROUD OF GOALSCORING ACHIEVEMENT

Youngster spoke ahead of U17s game against Grimsby Town

- Conor Falls is currently U17s’ top goalscorer
- Young Terrier regularly features for Under-19s
- Under-17s are back in action on Tuesday 16 February 2021

Huddersfield Town Under-17s forward Conor Falls is proud of how his first season as a Young Terrier is going so far.

The 17-year-old has had a prolific start to the current campaign, regularly featuring for Town’s Under-19s and scoring 19 goals across both age groups.

Falls, who initially joined the Academy as a winger, spoke to htafc.com about his impressive goal tally.

“I think the whole team has a part to play in every goal that we get.

“It’s a great achievement being the Under-17s’ top goalscorer, I’m very happy.

“It’s always good to contribute to goals for the team and it’s something that I always hope to do going into every game.

“It gives me great confidence to be able to play well and score goals.

“Helping the team is what I like doing and hopefully I can continue doing that.”

The youngster’s progression has seen him frequently play for the Under-19s side alongside some of his other Under-17 teammates; a step he admits has thoroughly benefitted his development at the Club.

“Challenges are always good. It’s good to be able to compare yourself to players who are older than you because they’re better physically.

“It’s better at helping to see where we need to improve at.

“It’s easier going into older age groups when you’re with people you already know.

“It gives us confidence and then when people your age are pushing up to other age groups it gives you motivation to do the same thing, so it really helps the Under-17 age group to progress and want to do better.”

Falls also took the time to comment on what he’s made of his season so far.

“I think I’ve improved a lot physically and my fitness stats have got up a lot recently.

“I also think I’ve got a lot better tactically and out of possession as well.

“It’s been a great start to the season so far and hopefully I can keep it going.”

Conor and his Under-17 teammates are back in action on Tuesday 16 February 2021 when they take on Grimsby Town at Canalside.
