Huddersfield Town striker Danny Ward is ‘over the moon’ to have scored his first goal of the season in Huddersfield Town’s 4-0 win over Reading in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The win saw Town extend their unbeaten run to three, in front of 14,613 fans at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Speaking to #HTTV after the game, he commented on how much it meant to him to get his first goal under his belt.

“Josh Koroma and I had been having a bit of a joke that he wasn’t crossing to us, so I thought “Surely he’s gonna pass me this one!”.

“It’s always nice to get off the mark, it releases that bit of pressure because obviously as a striker you want to be scoring week in, week out.

“I was over the moon to score and get the win as well.”

Ward also commented on how he thinks Town’s start to the 2021/22 season has gone.

“We’ve had a very good start to the season.

“We’ve had some tough opponents and I think we’ve done well to be on the points that we’re on now.

“It’s fantastic.

“It’s probably a shame that the break’s coming now with the run of form that we’re having, but it just shows the performances that we can put in and we need to keep that going.”
