Huddersfield Town have received the EFL’s Family Excellence Award for the 2019/20 season!

In 2007, the EFL launched the Family Excellence Scheme to reward clubs for their efforts in delivering an outstanding family experience.

Year on year, EFL clubs continue to provide engaging and innovative match day entertainment for families, whilst finding new and unique ways to attract fans and their families to matches. Such experiences include high levels of ticket booking assistance for families, extensive pre-match advice, exciting entertainment both inside and outside stadiums, access to players, mascots and dedicated family zones and activities.

Huddersfield Town is proud to have been awarded the Family Excellence Award for every year the Club has been in the EFL; one of a small number of clubs to regularly achieve the award since its inception.

This season, Huddersfield Town were recognised as offering superb entertainment for families at the John Smith’s Stadium, especially through the activities in the Fanzone and the Family Stand. This was alongside an all-round good experience with ticket purchase, at the Club shops, inside the Stadium and encounters with staff.

Huddersfield Town’s Supporter Services Manager, Robyn Kennerdale, commented:

“We are really happy to receive the EFL’s Family Excellence Award, once again, for the 2019/20 season!

“Being a true family club is something we are extremely proud of, so it’s great to be recognised for the work which has been done across the club to improve the family experience.

“We’ve tried to offer as many fun match day activities as possible at the Fanzone and in the Family Stand, as well as giving our young supporters the ability to meet first team players on match day.

“We want all families from around the local area and beyond to be able to come and watch Huddersfield Town, and hope to see as many supporters back in the Stadium, when it’s safe for them to return."
