- 17-year-old striker pens deal until June 2021
- Comments from Academy Manager Leigh Bromby

Academy striker Kian Harratt has signed his first professional contract at Huddersfield Town!

The 17-year-old forward has made great progress since joining the Club’s Academy in the summer of 2018 and has today committed his future to the Terriers until June 2021.

In his inaugural season as a Young Terrier, the Yorkshire-born striker impressed for the Under-17s, which earned his early breakthrough into Dean Whitehead’s Under-19 side. He bagged 32 goals for both teams during the 2018/19 campaign.

After missing pre-season and the early stages of season through injury, the youngster continued to go from strength-to-strength. So far this campaign, he’s scored five goals in three starts and five substitute appearances for Town’s Academy sides.

The young striker with an eye for goal has also been training with Danny Cowley’s First Team squad.

Huddersfield Town’s Academy Manager Leigh Bromby commented:

“Kian thoroughly deserves his first professional contract.

“During his time with us his attitude and application has been fantastic, which has helped him improve a lot as a footballer.

“Since he came in the building, he embraced our new approach to the Academy and has been constantly trying to improve his own game on the training pitch and by watching clips back.

“All the coaches are really looking forward to continuing their work with him; we’re excited by his potential.”
