All Huddersfield Town supporters are welcome to join the HTSA in the Legends Bar at the John Smith’s Stadium to watch England’s Women against Japan.
The event will be held at the Legends Bar on Wednesday 19 June from 7pm-10pm. The Lionesses match will kick-off at 8pm.
This special evening is co-funded by Fans For Diversity, which is run by the Football Supporters’ Association (@WeAreTheFSA) and Kick it Out (@kickitout).
Fans For Diversity aims to celebrate diversity among football fans and ensure that all fans can feel safe and welcome at football.
There will be a raffle on the evening with all proceeds going to Huddersfield Street Kitchen. Huddersfield Street Kitchen help those in need every Sunday (noon-3pm) by providing them with food, drinks, clothes, sleeping bags, toiletries and more. Huddersfield Town and Art of Football have provided the raffle prizes.
Emily Broome, Women’s Officer at the HTSA, commented:
“There aren’t many opportunities to watch the England Women’s team in a social setting.
“When we spoke to the Free Lionesses fans’ embassy and found out that Fans For Diversity are providing funding for fan-led events around the World Cup, we jumped at the chance.
“We’ll always support the Women’s game and female fandom when we can. We are looking forward to welcoming you all next Wednesday.”
