Huddersfield Town Club Captain admitted that the players will keep fighting for every point as they look to beat relegation to the Sky Bet Championship.
The Terriers are currently 14 points off safety in the Premier League with 12 games remaining.
Following the defeat to Arsenal last weekend, Town’s Club Captain went into detail about how tough this season has been for him, whilst expressing that the players will give everything to try and get more points on the board.
“I’ve been here a long time now and it’s heart breaking for me, it really is.
“I take great pride in what we’ve achieved at the Football Club and what I’ve achieved here personally.
“Losing games is not nice but we are still looking to get points on the board.
“Make no mistake about it, until it’s mathematically over then we will keep going for every last point. We will keep fighting.”
Over the past few seasons one of the key parts of Town’s success came through the togetherness of the squad. Something Tommy believes will be integral as we move into the back end of the campaign.
“It’s been a difficult season for us, I know that, everyone knows that, but the least we can do for the fans is try, work hard, stick together - which is what we’ve done over the last few years to get us where we are today – and send the fans home as happy as they can be.”
In the Terriers last outing they lost 2-1 at home to Arsenal, despite putting in a good, encouraging performance.
Tommy explained how that match has given everyone a confidence boost.
“We can take great spirit and pride out of the Arenal performance. Moving forward that game has to be a start for us.
“We have to pride maximum effort for every single minute on the pitch.”
