Work starts on new pitch at Huddersfield Town’s Training Ground
- Work has begun on Huddersfield Town’s training complex
- New collection point for Town’s official away coaches
- PPG Canalside parking update for Town supporters
The redevelopment of Huddersfield Town’s training complex, PPG Canalside, is now underway!
The work is designed to bring the facility up to the highest of Premier League standards after an estimated £15 million to £20 million was committed to the project by Chairman Dean Hoyle and the Board of Directors.
The first stage of the redevelopment is underway as Preston-based Frank Whittle Partnership Group has started to create the showpiece pitch on the newly-acquired land on the north east of the site.
Like the pitch at the John Smith’s Stadium, the new pitch will be a hybrid Desso GrassMaster surface, complete with undersoil heating, high-spec floodlights, and a covered stand for supporters (shown below).
The new plans are timetabled to be completed in time for the 2020/21 pre-season. For more information on the redevelopment please CLICK HERE.
With the redevelopment ongoing, parking at PPG Canalside has therefore been limited.
On a home Huddersfield Town match day parking will only be available to supporters who have a ‘Premier Car Park’ pass.
If this means you are looking for somewhere new to park on a Town match day, then why not try the Gasworks Street Car Park?
Parking will cost £8 per game and you must buy a pass in advance of each match day. CLICK HERE to buy a pass online.
The work at PPG Canalside also means that supporters will no longer get on Town’s official away coaches from the Club’s training complex.
For the foreseeable future, Town’s Official Coaches will depart from the St. Andrew’s Road Car Park at the John Smith’s Stadium.
