Two games planned for latest Under-19 tour

- Huddersfield Town Under-19s heading to Poland
- Dean Whitehead’s Young Terriers to play two Polish sides
- Squad based in Opalenica for four-day stay

A young Huddersfield Town Under-19 squad heads to Poland on Sunday for the latest European tour of the 2018/19 season.

The Young Terriers’ bespoke games programme includes a mixture of exposure to senior men’s football and top technical tests against Europe’s best and this will be the fifth trip to the mainland.

Whitehead’s youngsters visited the Czech Republic in late July, recording impressive draws with Bayern Munich and Sparta Prague, before drawing with SC Braga and defeating Celta Vigo during a stay in Portugal in September.

A comprehensive 4-0 win over Udinese was the highlight of October’s camp in Italy, with an equally impressive win over Sevilla following in Spain in February.

Now a young-looking Town squad will stay in Poland between 14 and 18 April to train and play two more European opponents.

Both games will take place at the training base in Opalenica, with Warta Poznań visiting on 15 April for a 3pm kick-off (local time) before a match against Śląsk Wrocław on 17 April, 3pm kick-off (local).

The travelling party will include several Under-19 regulars, such as Scott High and Micah Obiero, as well as several members of the Under-17 side with only a handful of appearances at this level, like goalkeeper Giosue Bellagambi and winger Andrew Ijiwole.
