Final European test for Young Terriers on tour
- Young Terriers face Sparta Prague in final game of European Tour
- Hudson’s side draw 1-1 in the Czech capital
- Micah Obiero on target for Town's U19s
Huddersfield Town’s Under-19 side concluded its pre-season tour in Europe with a 1-1 draw against Sparta Prague in the Czech captial.
The Young Terriers travelled to the Czech Republic for its third and final game of a pre-season tour in Europe that has already seen them face Viktoria Plzeň and Bayern Munich in Germany.
Mark Hudson set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation with captain Scott High sitting in a midfield three, with Isaac Marriott & Tom Bell either side.
The game was held at the Strahov Stadium and kicked-off at 10am local time (9am UK time).
It wasn’t the start the Young Terriers had in mind as they found themselves a goal down within the opening quarter of an hour. The host fired in a low cross from the left that was duly converted at the far post to give them the lead.
Town hit back and found themselves level on the half-hour mark. Olly Dyson set off with a powerful run through midfield reaching the edge of the area before squaring to Micah Oberio who rounded the ‘keeper to draw the game level.
Having gone a goal down, Mark Hudson’s side was on top since drawing as the game headed towards the break. The best chance of that period fell to Ben Jackson who collected the ball on the edge of the area after some slick build-up play from Town but powered his effort straight at the Sparta ‘keeper.
Town’s dominance continued into the second-half, but the Young Terriers wasn’t able to find that elusive chance as the game ended all-square.
